Specialized Services

As paying consumers (not just providers) of senior care services, there were several services that we wished we had available to us when we began our search for senior care. We implemented them for our parents and they were so well received that we had to make them available to our clients.

Long Distance Care – a premium suite of services tailored to those clients that are away from family members or their support group. Beyond the services we deliver to all our clients, Long Distance Care clients get free access to Transportation Services, Enhanced Exercise Programs, Pet Assisted Therapy, Video-Calling/Telehealth. Additionally, family members, conservators and other client-approved personnel receive our exclusive CareTracker™ reports bi-weekly.

Video Calls/ Telehealth – many of our clients have adult children or loved ones that are separated by distance or simply time (busy schedules). Catching a flight or a long drive can often be too much (physically, emotionally, medically) for many seniors. Our Video Services help our clients reconnect and stay in touch with family members and friends in their local community or virtually anywhere in the world. Most clients think of this service as wellness therapy.

While not a substitute for doctor visits/ appointments, many physicians, nurses and conservators find this service to be a convenient option to check-in with their patients/ clients in- between visits and on a more frequent basis. (HIPAA, privacy edicts strictly enforced, encryption)

Family members and friends that have access to the internet also find our Video Services as a much better alternative to a phone call as they can actually see their loved one. Our Video Services provide a rich and intimate interaction that is just like being in the same room.

No need to know about computers or the internet. You don’t even have to own a computer. (Internet access may be required in some instances) Our IT (Information Technology) team will help you set up/ maintain this service and even supply a net book/laptop if needed.

Best of all, our caregivers are specially trained to get and keep you connected. As always, they are supported by our in-house IT team to ensure calls remain uninterrupted.

Video Enhanced Exercise Program – physical activity and range of motion (ROM) exercises are essential to keeping seniors independent and at home. It can help with arthritis pain, joint stiffness, flexibility, circulation etc. Video game consoles like the Wii® have produced a fun and exciting way to get our clients moving and improve their health. Our goal is to be very low impact and focus on ROM exercises. Our IT team will provide everything needed to enjoy this fun service. Our Caregivers are specially trained to help with our Enhanced Exercise Program.

Pet Assisted Therapy – pets can be as valuable as a prescription. Their interaction can help with cognition, memory, motor skills, balance and coordination, speech/ communication skills, depression and anxiety. This service is popular with our clients that have Parkinson’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Dementia as they find this service particularly therapeutic.
