Beyond being caring and patient our specially trained caregivers have advanced certifications and receive ongoing training in these areas in order to maintain a greater appreciation and understanding – the bottom line is better care!
Alzheimer’s (AD) Care – the goals are improving our client’s sense of well-being, quality of life and individual function. (simplifying decision-making, easing communication difficulties (expressing their thoughts and emotions), helping with momentary periods of confusion and building self-esteem. Caregivers receive frequent in-services and training on this topic from leading experts/associations including the Alzheimer’s Association.
Parkinson’s (PD) Care – built on providing constant reassurance and creating a calming environment, our PD Care program is designed at improving quality of life. Caregivers are experienced/ trained in the complications of PD such as (stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue, frustration etc) and understand how to make clients feel safe and comfortable.
Memory Care – focused on awakening the senses to help retrieve memories, our CRT or Cognitive Retention Therapy taps into a client’s life history (familiar people, surroundings, careers, etc) in order to maintain/ strengthen long term memories as well as provide skills to support short-term memory and improve recall.
Stroke –centered on inclusion, empowerment and building self-esteem.
Hospice – terminal illnesses can have a profound effect on clients and their families. The approach for these clients is a holistic one that keeps them comfortable, alleviates pain and improving quality of life.
Cancer – for those battling cancer, being at home often makes patients feel more comfortable, stronger and secure. (surrounded by family, friends and familiar surroundings). Beyond our routine services, caregivers employ a holistic approach that is grounded by a sense of optimism.
